The photo at left shows Dick (left) and Paul Jachman (right), owners of Navion N5246K since August 2002. This photo was taken shortly after the airplane got a new coat of paint.

Dick
enjoys taking trips with the plane to visit areas all over the Country. The plane has been to New York twice ... Texas twice ... Washington (via Caldwell, ID) once ... Florida once ... and MO twice. They plan on taking her to Van Nuys, CA in April 2005. [ more ]

I fly out of Red Wing Regional Airport (KRGK) in Red Wing, Minnesota.

My interest in aviation started at age 12 when a friend’s father invited me to fly with them on a visit to the Science and Technology Museum in Chicago. I remember being more impressed with their Twin Bonanza than I was in landing at Meigs Field - 30-some years later I started training for my PPL. [ more ]

N4948K, my son Joe and I relocated from Belleville, IL 22 months ago (Summer 2005) to Portland Oregon. The airplane is based at Aurora (UAO), Oregon.

I soloed in February of 1965 at Albrook AFB in the Panama Canal Zone. My father was an Air Force pilot, who flew P-47 in Europe during WWII, providing air cover during D Day and subsequent advance through France.

I began my professional flying career as a Crop Duster ...

Clint Dalton

Clint's Navion

Hangared at Hampton Roads Executive Airport (KPVG), Chesapeake, VA.

Clint Dalton, 58, of Norfolk, VA is the owner of this 1950 Navion Super 260 B model. Clint and his dad, Buddy, purchased it in 1985 from an estate. It had not flown for approximately 5 years previous. Clint's Uncle, Gene Dalton, an OX5 aviation pioneer and A&P mechanic, helped prepare the Navion for flight. [ more ]

The Gray Goose

Although I developed an interest in aviation as early as Kindergarten, and was stationed in the Navy at Corpus Christi Naval Air Station in the '60s, my real introduction to flying was by way of one Ron Tennant, who owned a Navion.

He took me on a couple of business trips in 1989, and "set the hook" so to speak. I got my pilots license in 1990, and purchased N91472, NAV-4-279, The Gray Goose, in 1991. [ more ]

Navion 2443T

At left: Navion 2443T at the Santa Paula, CA airport (KSZP).

I first flew in Navion airplanes when I was probably 7 or 8, with my Uncle. The flying bug never left. After a total of 15 years in the Navy and Marine Corps, I still had not realized the dream of flying and, instead, was becoming a workaholic!

My work life, managing Information Technology work was full ... but I needed something that was FUN to do! [ more ]

I flew my cousin's Navion (Doug Johnston in El Centro) and fell in love with the airplane. I own a Cessna 172 and decided that I really wanted a Navion, preferably one from 1947-1949. It took a couple years, but I finally found one that worked for me. I love the plane and now I'm in the process of upgrading the instrument panel and restoring it as much as possible. They are a labor of love.

Dan Kretchmer's Navion

We spent the rest of that cold Saturday wandering from hangar to hangar meeting some really nice people and checking out there planes.

I don't recall the fellas name but he had a nice A model Navion. I sat in it and my decision had been made for me.

I would be a Navion owner! [ more ]

Dan Kretchmer's Navion

The Phoenix is a 1949 Navion A that I bought in 2006. I had lapsed my licenses for 30 years. When I got back into flying I knew that I would not be satisfied until I owned my own aircraft. My wife wanted a plane that was comfortable to get in and out of and lots of room inside. After trying numerous others on for size I was about ready to stop looking and just keep renting from the FOB. I found an ad for the plane in a local magazine. [ more ]

Mike Salka's Navion

I live in Camarillo, California and my 1947 Navion is based at Camarillo (KCMA) and NAS North Island (KNZY). I use the Navion to commute between the two locations.

I first heard about Navions from my father, who flew in one in high school (must have been a pretty new Navion). Later, after I learned to fly, I met the previous owner of my Navion and had the good fortune of flying with him. 10 years later, I am the proud owner of N8600H.
